Christmas has rushed up on us like speeding train, and next week the Apedale Valley Light Railway will be running their Santa Service, hopefully it will be travelling at a more sedate pace. It’s always a popular event and the trains are filling up fast on www.avlr.org.uk.
We are running our usual Christmas raffle, this year we are raising money to help towards our heating project. So if you drop in please do buy a ticket, the top prize is a £50 Christmas hamper. We’ve been saving and fund raising like mad over the course of this year so that we can get heating into the café and reception area and we are almost there – the installation engineers are poised to jump into action! If you visited during the worst of the winter weather last year, you’ll know that this is a much needed improvement. Heating for the museum will have to be a separate project, but we’ll make sure that Santa and his visitors have heat over the next couple of weekends.
