Despite our access problems (see earlier posts) we’re not letting that stop us having Easter fun. Today (Monday 14th April), Tomorrow (15th) and Wednesday (16th) we will be running mine tours and the museum will be open. We may be announcing more weekdays soon, so do stay tuned! Either way our café will be open to attend to all of your oatcake needs. Tickets for a fundraising raffle available in the café too, with a change to win a Big Thornton’s chocolate Easter egg.
At the Weekend and Bank Holiday Monday, the railway will be running their popular Easter Egg Hunt for the kids – and at no extra charge over the normal rail fare. Mine tours and the museum will be open as usual.
We are optimistic that the Loomer Road entrance to be back in use before the weekend but until then, the Black Bank car park (Click here [openstreetmap.org]) can be used. There’s is also some space at the bottom of Apedale Road, but the last few hundred yards is quite rough as it’s an unadopted road. Enter at your own risk! When the trains are running you now can catch one from the brand new station to the Heritage Centre.
