Roman Weekend 2008

During the summer of 2008 we held a weekend celebrating Chesterton's Roman Heritage. Featuring the Ermine Street Guard, we held a march through Chesterton following as closely as possible the route of the Roman road from Rocester as it entered the village. The march ended at Chesterton High School which stands where the Roman fort once stood. At the Heritage Centre we held displays and demonstrations by the Ermine Street guard, pictures of which are shown here.
