This special attraction was created at the site of Staffordshire's Apedale Mine, one of the last working coal mines in Staffordshire. Our friendly, knowledgeable staff are always there to help you enjoy a time of discovery and exploration of Apedale Valley's important contribution to the economy and culture of generations of Staffordshire people. During your visit you can experience our underground mine tours , see our free, interesting and informative Museum, and relax in our welcoming café and gift shop.

The centre is set in the unique landscape of Apedale Country Park, near to the village of Chesterton. The site is also home to the Moseley Railway Trust's collection of narrow gauge industrial locomotives.

We are open every day from 10:30am to 4:00pm, although the museum and mine tours are only run at the weekend and Bank Holidays, or by appointment.
